PD Recycling at Home Program

Helping manage the waste associated with peritoneal dialysis
The Baxter Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) Recycling at Home Program will be recommencing for eligible patients in June 2022. The program was paused during recent months due to implications of COVID-19 restrictions.

Eligible patients will have their monthly recycling* collected when their Baxter driver drops off their delivery after 1st June. As at 1st June 2022, the program is available to all home patients in metropolitan areas in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide who currently have Baxter PD recycling bins.

What is the Baxter PD Recycling at home program?
Home PD can generate a considerable amount of waste, including cardboard boxes and plastic. For patients receiving their peritoneal dialysis products from Baxter, Baxter can help manage this waste through an easy recycling program. Currently more than 900 Home PD patients across ANZ are benefiting from this service.

The Baxter delivery driver will remove cardboard and recyclable plastics from the patient’s home during the regular monthly delivery of renal fluids and ancillaries required for dialysis.

The patient simply places recyclable material into the bins provided, ready for collection at the next delivery.

*It will be at the driver’s discretion to take recycling that has been kept for prolonged periods during the pause period of the program. Availability of space within a delivery vehicle may prohibit collection of some waste.

Your recycling will be collected when your Baxter driver drops off your next scheduled delivery.
